Week 5 Love and Service
Engagement pics and then 25 years later.
When you meet someone and fall in love and promise to be with them for eternity, you look forward to the good and the happy things that are to come. Things don't just happen without some sort of work involved. We put in the time in order to enjoy the blessings of a close relationship. Christ and the Atonement also needs to be at the center of our relationship.
We must work on ourselves to become like Christ to have charity. Having the spirit with us as a constant companion helps us to understand, accept and love unconditionally. If Christ is not a priority in our relationship then we must make some changes and goals of bringing Him into our lives and our Homes.
H. Wallace Goddard says in his book, Drawing Heaven into Your Marriage, "Regardless of our woe - whether irritation of spouse or trouble with anger - He is the One that can heal us." Christ is the answer. Whatever the question, but especially in our relationships in our homes and our families.
Service is also a wonderful blessing that we can do to keep Christ in our relationship.
Galatians 5:13 states:
For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
My husband serves me constantly. He loves making me breakfast and dinner on Sunday. He also brings the laundry baskets up and down the stairs for me. He does many other small tasks for me constantly to serve me. I love how he also serves his children when they come home from college or visit from out of town. He is a great example of service
Let us all look to Christ and his example of true Charity towards are family and loved ones and serve them with all our might and be kind and loving to those around us.
